Know your chemistry.
Protect your career.

A certificated course for working nail technicians: what the products on your desk actually do, why allergy happens, and what EU law requires of you. No chemistry background needed.

Who we are

A nail school built by a formulator

IKON.IQ makes professional UV gel systems for technicians across Europe. The Academy is where we publish the chemistry behind them — including the parts that don't flatter us.

Learn between clients

The whole course is online and self-paced. Start a lesson between appointments, pick it up again that evening — your progress is saved as you go.

Sourced, not asserted

Every chemistry and regulation claim traces back to the primary document — not to a supplier's marketing. Where the science is contested, the course says so.

Assessed and certificated

Ten questions at the end of every module, an 80% pass mark, and a final certification exam. Pass it and your certificate is issued automatically.

What you'll actually learn

Six modules, twenty-two lessons, built from the ground up.
No chemistry background assumed — every idea starts at the bench and ends at your desk.

Start with the molecules

What a monomer is, how a chain forms, and why that matters when a client says the enhancement lifted. Chemistry foundations first, then the four enhancement systems side by side.

Adhesion and cure

Why product sticks to a nail plate and why it stops. What a UV lamp actually does, what a proper cure looks like, and what an incomplete one costs you and your client.

Allergy, safety and EU law

Allergic contact dermatitis end to end: which molecules sensitise, how they reach living tissue, what the EU has restricted and when, and the records that protect you if a client reacts.

Back at the desk

Salon practice and troubleshooting: why a service breaks down, the client history that changes what you do next, and what the law asks of anyone placing a product on the market.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a chemistry background?

No. The course starts from what a molecule is and builds from there. Everything is in plain language, with the analogies and worked examples that make it stick at the desk.

How long does it take?

Twenty-two lessons across six modules. Most technicians take four to six hours in total, and there is no time limit — do it in one sitting or over a month. Your progress is saved as you go.

Is there a certificate?

Yes. Every module ends in a ten-question assessment with an 80% pass mark, and the course ends in a final certification exam. Pass it and your certificate is issued automatically.

Is this just IKON.IQ product training?

No. It is chemistry and regulation that applies to every brand on your desk — including where the published science disagrees with what the industry repeats, and which scares turn out to be unfounded.
